Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and influence one’s own emotions as well as the emotions of others. It encompasses several key skills: emotional awareness, the ability to apply emotions to tasks like thinking and problem-solving, understanding the meanings of emotions, and the ability to regulate emotions to foster personal and social growth. Emotional intelligence is often divided into four main components: perceiving emotions, using emotions to facilitate thought, understanding emotions, and managing emotions. High emotional intelligence can enhance interpersonal relationships, improve communication, and increase empathy, ultimately contributing to personal and professional success.
